Olivia has recently introduced Heidi AI (artificial intelligence) to her clinics.
Heidi AI is an advanced artificial intelligence designed for healthcare. It acts as a “medical scribe” by listening to patient consultations in real time and automatically generating structured clinical notes, referral letters, and medical summaries. It is approved for used in the NHS across the UK.
How It Works
- Background Listening: The AI temporarily records and transcribes the conversation between the doctor/therapist and the patient.
- Note Generation: Once the consultation ends, it automatically drafts comprehensive medical notes based on the transcript. The letters and notes generated are stored on your Spire electronic patient record as usual.
- Clinician Review: Olivia reviews, edits, and approves the notes or letters before officially saving them to your medical record. You will get a copy of the letter generated and if you find any discrepancies, you can request this to be corrected.
Key Benefits
- More Patient Focus: By automating paperwork, Olivia can pay more attention to you.
- Improved Accuracy: It ensures that all details of the visit are captured accurately, reducing the risk of missing vital information.
- Speed: It drastically cuts down on administrative time so clinics are less likely to overrun.
Security, Privacy and Usage
- Patient Control: Olivia will always ask for your permission before using AI technology in your appointment. You have the right to opt-out or change your mind at any point, and doing so will not affect the care you receive.
- Compliance: The software adheres to stringent data protection standards, including GDPR and NHS data frameworks. This includes the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), DTAC (Digital Technology Assessment Criteria), and clinical safety standard DCB0129. Temporary audio recordings used to generate the notes are not permanently stored.
